Donate your books and media to the Central Friends! Each year we receive hundreds of donated books, which we in turn resell to the public through our bookstore and onliine book sales. Your donation is tax-deductible and helps to provide critical support to the San Diego Central Library.

WHAT WE ACCEPT:
In addition to books, we accept donations of media and assorted printed material, including:
- LPs
- Books on CD and tape
- DVDs, Blu-ray discs
- Hardback and paperback books
- Audiobooks, CDs, DVDs
- Vinyl records
- Text books ( current math books)
- Graphic Novels-Comic Books
- General encyclopedias (World Book, Britannica, etc.)
- Magazines
WHAT WE DO NOT ACCEPT:
Books with significant underlining, highlighting, or notes
Books that are musty, moldy or mildewed
Books that smell of tobacco
CDs or DVDs without cases
Home-recorded (burned) or pirated CDs or DVDsi
Travel guides more than 5 years old
Computer books published between 1990 and 2005

Volunteer
As you know, Friends of the Malcolm X Library believes that we have the ability to make a difference in our community through literacy and cultural preservation and are dedicated to serving our library and its patrons. Being a volunteer organization we are powered by the generosity by individuals like yourself. We always welcome community support for our numerous programs as well as books sales and library maintenance.
